If you are unfortunate enough to be bitten/attacked by a dog that is not under the control of its owner phone the Police. If you come into contact with a dog displaying anti-social behaviour the correct procedure is to report the incident by telephone to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Dog Warden on 01482 396301 or via their website. Any incident will be dealt with by the people responsible for dealing with these issues.  This also includes noise nuisance caused by dogs continually barking if they are left on their own for a long period of time.

All dog owners should be aware that it is an offence not to clear up after your dog if it fouls on land in the open air which the public has access to. A person guilty of this offence can be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £75.  If the fine is not paid the dog owner is summoned to a court appearance, the maximum fine that can be issued is up to £1000 by the courts.

If in a public place or on a highway, dogs must wear a collar with a tag or badge attached, with the name and address of the owner inscribed on it.

It is also an offence to not have your dog micro-chipped, and you must make sure your contact details are kept up-to-date.

Litter & Debris on roads and footpaths can be reported using the East Riding of Yorkshire Council website's Litter & Road Cleaning reporting page.

Mud on the road cannot be reported to ERYC as they are not responsible for mud on roads. As this type of issue is a road traffic offence, it should be reported to the police on the 101 non-emergency number.

It is the responsibility of the farmer/contractor to display signs warning of  'Mud on the Road.'   Also to sweep the road during the day if there is a significant build up and ensure the road is swept at the end of the working day.

ERYC will only consider removing mud if the police decide to close the road due to significant danger.

Although it is not illegal to park on the footpath it is illegal to obstruct it and impede access for pedestrians.  Access should be maintained for all pedestrians particularly if they are with pushchairs, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, elderly people and young children.

The Parish Council respectfully request that if you park on the footpath please make sure that pedestrians do not have to step out into the road and can continue to use the footway unimpeded.
